SHIPPING INFORMATION FOR SAFES AND INSULATED FILE CABINETS
The size and weight of your safe purchase will determine the shipping method. Ship time is between three and ten business days.
All safes weighing 85 lbs. or less will be shipped via UPS or FedEx Ground.
All safes weighing in excess of 85 lbs. will be shipped via truck to your destination of choice inside the continental United States. Safes shipped via truck will be delivered inside to the location you have chosen by the trucking company at no additional charge. This service does not include any stairs or steps. You are responsible for moving or removing furniture or other obstacles along the path the safe will travel including the location where the safe will be placed. The trucking company is only supplied with a hand truck and a pallet jack, so the inside distance is limited to their equipment. Any elevators used during the delivery must be in good working condition and must be rated for at least the weight of the safe plus 1,000 pounds.
IMPORTANT: All deliveries must be signed for at the time of delivery; therefore the customer must be present. The trucking company will not leave a safe if no one is available to sign for the shipment at the delivery address. The trucking company will also charge a redelivery fee of $30.00 or more depending on weight, which will be payable by the customer.
IMPORTANT: ALL SAFES MUST BE INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. All damages must be noted prior to signing the freight bill; otherwise you will be unable to return the safe. If the safe is damaged the customer MUST REFUSE DELIVERY. If you keep the safe your only recourse is to contact the freight carrier for compensation.
SHIPPING INFORMATION FOR ALL OTHER PRODUCTS
FREE UPS Ground Shipping for all Continental US addresses on all orders over $200.00. All orders placed on this web site are subject to product availability and will be shipped according to Bates Street Lock & Safe's shipping policies. All in stock items are usually shipped within 24 hours (*not including weekends and holidays). Orders requiring special handling (i.e. Special Keying or Master Keyed Locks) will require additional time depending on the size of the order but will usually ship in 3-5 days. Orders placed before 12 PM CST, or 1 PM for Expedited orders (Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air) can usually be shipped the same day. Orders placed by Internet or by phone receive the same priority handling.
All orders are F.O.B. our shipping facility. The risk of loss and title for ordered merchandise pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier and/or freight consolidator.
RETURN POLICY FOR SAFES
Safes may not be returned without our prior approval and the issuance of a Returned Goods Authorization (RGA). When returned, safes and their cartons must be in perfect unused, resalable condition. All returns are subject to our inspection and approval and a reasonable handling charge. Non-stock, special goods or items fabricated, modified, or cut to size per order are not returnable. Shipping Costs
The customer will pay all freight (shipping and handling fees on original shipment and return shipment) on returns.
Limitations
No returns will be accepted after 3 days of receipt.
Restocking Fee
A restocking fee for undamaged returns will be charged for 20% of the merchandise cost.
Damaged Goods
If the merchandise you receive is damaged, you must contact the freight carrier for reconciliation. PLEASE INSPECT ALL MERCHANDISE BEFORE SIGNING FOR IT.
We will do our best to process the return quickly. Please allow 14-21 days for processing. Refunds will be credited to the original purchasing credit card account number, or by a store credit.
RETURN POLICY FOR ALL OTHER PRODUCTS
Bates Street Lock & Safe provides a 30-day money back guarantee on all products and services purchased, except special order items and safes. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply notify us by phone at 314-351-7252 and we will immediately issue a Returned Goods Authorization (RGA). Number. No restocking fee is charged if the items are returned in perfect condition. Any shipping charges accrued from Bates Street Lock & Safe are none refundable unless the return is due to our error. The following terms must be met by you.
* Return the merchandise to us within 30 days of your original receipt of the order.
* You MUST call Bates Street Lock & Safe at 314-351-7252 M-F 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time for RGA Number.
* The products must be returned in new, resalable condition.
* Carefully repackage and double-box the merchandise and clearly mark the RGA on the outside package.
* You must include all packaging materials.
* Packaging materials must not be torn or damaged.
* All manuals and warranty registration cards must be unmarked.
* We recommend items be shipped with a tracking number.
* Any programming MUST be reset back to factory default.
* You must pay any return shipping expense

You are responsible for all freight charges. However, you will be credited all reasonable and customary freight charges relevant to that item if the wrong item was shipped. Please include the postal receipt in your return package.
Upon receipt of the returned merchandise in good order in accordance with the above and within 30 days of original delivery, we will issue credit to your charge account. You may elect to receive store credit towards another purchase or to simply receive a refund.
